- Assistant Mystery Solved! On the eve of her new tour, Britney Spears welcomed back an old face into the fold, re-hiring former assistant Felicia Culotta (who was working for The Jonas Brothers). But the move had Britney watchers wondering, what happened to her other assistant and constant companion Brett? Was this a sign of further turmoil in Spears land?
"Nothing is wrong, there is no chaos, [Brett] just took a vacation," a source confirms to RadarOnline.com exclusively. "The job is too much for one person. Felicia will handle more of the personal stuff and Brett will focus on the business side."
Culotta had parted ways with Spears in 2007. At the time, Culotta sent out an e-mail about the difficult separation saying, "I cannot convince her in ANY way to love herself...I cannot save her from herself." Culotta's ties to the family were so close that she often spent the holidays with them and was viewed as one of Britney's closest advisors and friends.
The Circus tour kicks off on March 3 in New Orleans.

- Britney May Be Trying to Break Away From Daddy's Control
Was Britney Spears trying to make a break for it? Or does some avid fan just want her to be able to run free like the wind?
A woman claiming to be Britney left three voice mails last month asking an attorney for help to extricate herself from her ongoing conservatorship, according to audio recordings played to E! News.
On the recordings, the woman says she wants out of the arrangement and indicates that she is at odds with dad Jamie Spears.
In the first message, left at 1:34 a.m. on Jan. 19, she says, in a hushed tone, "Hi, this is Britney Spears. I want Jon Eardley...to represent me as coappointed attorneys for my best interest and best wishes. Goodbye."
A rep for Spears could not be reached for comment, though a source close to the popster says the voice on the recordings is "absolutely not her."
Eardley was the New York-based attorney, supposedly retained by Sam Lutfi, who last year tried to have Britney's conservatorship case transferred to federal court, claiming her civil rights had been trampled on by her parents and the L.A. Superior Court system.
All of his claims were denied, with a judge ruling that, because Spears had been found unfit to hire her own counsel, Eardley had no grounds on which to work on the singer's behalf.
In the second message, left 20 minutes later, the woman, who misstates the date, says, "Hi, this is Britney Spears. It's January 18th. I just want out of this conservatorship....I'm confined, restrained, stripped of my civil rights and I demand the State of California to review this case because I feel it is meaningful. Bye."
Britney's camp obtained a restraining order against Eardley, whom her father and attorneys have accused of being in cahoots with Sam Lutfi to undermine the conservatorship, on Jan. 30. The order is also in place against Lutfi and former Spears' paramour, paparazzo Adnan Ghalib.
In the third message, dated Jan. 21 at 12:29 a.m., the woman says, "Hi, my name is Britney Spears. Um, I called you earlier. I'm calling again because I just wanted to make sure during the process of ending the conservatorship...I just want to be guaranteed that, um, everything will be fine with the process of, um, you guys taking care of everything and...things will be the same as far as...my custodial rights."
In the petition for a restraining order against Lutfi, Eardley and Ghalib, Spears' conservators alleged that the three men had been "working in concert to disrupt the conservatorship." They also attached a letter sent from Eardley to Britney a year ago informing her that "civil rights were violated" and offering his assistance.

Britney Spears has reportedly recruited a magician for her upcoming world tour.
The 'Womanizer' singer is hoping that TV illusionist Ed Alonzo will add some flair to 'The Circus Starring Britney Spears', reports In Touch.
"She'll be singing, dancing and doing illusions at the same time," said Alonzo, who has previously appeared on Saved By The Bell and America's Next Top Model.
Indian choreographer Rujata, who has helped design the show, revealed that Spears has been rehearsing eight hours a day, often wearing just a string bikini to ensure that her moves are flawless.
"Britney is a perfectionist. When she comes in the room, it's a really intense, high-pressure environment," she explained. "[She] is totally fit and her body is back in shape. She is really confident right now."
Spears will kick off her US tour on March 3 in New Orleans, before playing a mini-residency at London's O2 arena from June 3 and a one-off show in Manchester on June 17.

- Britney takes dig at former US president Britney Spears has reportedly taken a dig at the disgraced former U.S. president Richard Nixon by wearing a T-shirt with his face and the word 'dick' emblazoned across the front. The 'Toxic' hitmaker was spotted wearing the T-shirt in Los Angeles, reports the Sun.
Britney is not known for her grasp of politics - but it look like she's offered her own cheeky spin on the Watergate scandal. The Watergate scandals were a series of American political scandals during the presidency of Nixon that resulted in the indictment of several of Nixon's closest advisors, and ultimately his resignation on August 9, 1974.
The scandals began with the arrest of five men for breaking and entering into the Democratic National Committee headquarters at the Watergate Office complex in Washington, D.C. on June 17, 1972. Investigations conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and later by the Senate Watergate Committee, House Judiciary Committee and the press revealed that this burglary was one of many illegal activities authorized and carried out by Nixon's staff.

- Britney Spears Blogs About Circus Tour Stage: 'Cooler Than I Imagined'
Britney Spears is gearing up for her circus. Last week it was announced that Perez Hilton would be joining Spears' Circus tour via a video cameo, and now Britney is revealing to fans that she had her first rehearsal on the tour stage.
"I rehearsed on the tour stage for the first time!" she blogged on her Web site. "It's cooler than I imagined & has a lot of moving parts — can't wait for you to see it!"
The tour starts March 3 in New Orleans (in Britney's home state of Louisiana) and continues through the end of April before hitting London in June. The Pussycat Dolls are the opening act.
Until now, Britney had been rehearsing in the same space as Nine Inch Nails. "I can hear the thumping low end of Britney Spears," NIN's Trent Reznor commented on the site. "It's been a treat having them here the whole time we've been here."
Spears' manager, Adam Leber, said that Britney and NIN have been getting along "famously," adding, "Maybe we should ask Trent Reznor to remix 'Circus'?"
Britney also released a photo of herself getting ready to film her new video, "If U Seek Amy," and a clip of her dancers doing the moves from the video, shot last week near Malibu. "This video was shot in the bedroom where one of the super-hot scenes from the music video was filmed," the post reads. "You'll have to wait for the video to premiere to see the whole routine, but this should whet your appetite for now."
In the video, Britney takes on the role of a sexy 1950s housewife. Decked out in a blond wig, tight pink top and white skirt, Spears shot the clip in Pacific Palisades, California, near Malibu. "The video begins with Britney coming outside her house to hand the paparazzi an apple pie that she baked," a source told People magazine. "She acts like she wants to hook up. The video is very provocative."

- 50 Cent’s ‘Before I Self Destruct’ Inspired by Britney Spears A little over a year ago, not a day would go by without Britney Spears making the international headlines, either for something that she truly did or with something that she might have done, that is, rumors and speculation. While that was definitely one of the bleakest moments for the singer, it seems to have inspired rapper 50 Cent for his upcoming album, as he himself admits.
Just like the rest of the world, Fiddy took some pleasure in watching the Princess of Pop slowly shedding all her doll-like attributes and being exposed as a regular person to the cameras. It wasn’t so much because he wanted her to be miserable, the rapper says in a recent interview, as it was seeing her so out of control that made him, and other regular people like him, feel good about themselves. Her behavior has also inspired him for his upcoming album.
“She was the greatest show on earth last year. She was going through her issues in public... It was great to watch her spin out of control because it makes the average person feel better.” 50 Cent (real name Curtis Jackson) tells OK! Magazine. Her behavior, as noted above, also helped him lay down some material for his much-delayed “Before I Self Destruct” project, which is supposed to come out any day now.
Speaking of Fiddy’s album, just the other day, when Eminem’s first single after many years of silence set a new digital record for the number of downloads in its first week of release, Rolling Stone was saying that fans would rather stand a chance of seeing “Crack a Bottle” on Fiddy’s album than on Eminem’s. While either way would perhaps be equally fine by most of them, at least now they have an idea about what to expect from “Before I Self Destruct,” other than knowing that it was inspired by Britney Spears.
“50 Cent, who contributes a verse to the song, recently told MTV that ‘Crack’ will show up on his perpetually delayed ‘Before I Self Destruct’ before it winds up on Em’s Relapse or even Dr. Dre’s ‘Detox.’ Fiddy also plans to shoot an animated video for ‘Crack,’ along with a video for his own single ‘I Get It In.’ We’ll hopefully find out which Shady/Aftermath rapper claims ownership of ‘Crack a Bottle’ within the coming months, as all three albums are expected out in 2009.” Rolling Stone pointed out at the time.

- Britney Spears: No Really, That's Wax
A new wax figure of Circus ringmaster Britney Spears, 27, has been unveiled at Madame Tussaud's in London. And its lifelike quality is almost chilling.
The new figure depicts major 50 Cent inspiration Britney as she looked at last year's MTV Video Music Awards, where she wore a shimmering silver dress as she accepted multiple awards for her "Piece of Me" video.
The figure looks like it could stop, drop and bust into some choreography at any minute.
The VMAs appearance was considered the first stop on the road to a successful comeback that has resulted in a #1 album and sold-out shows on her upcoming tour, which will be sponsored by Virgin Mobile and be her first nationwide concert series since the Onyx Hotel Tour of 2004.
Sky News reports that the old Spears figure was made eight years ago, and the museum felt that it was time to update it.
Museum spokesperson Liz Edwards says that Britney has "undergone a huge transformation since then and we wanted to reflect her as she is now."

- Britney Spears Close To Breaking Point Ahead Of Tour?
Britney Spears is being pushed to breaking point as she prepares for her first 'live' tour since her public breakdown, according to those close to the pop star.
Friends of the singer – whose Circus tour kicks off in New Orleans on March 3 – say she is buckling under the pressure and is too “stressed” to go on the road."Britney’s like a wound-up spring waiting to go of," a source tells Now.
"She's still taking medication to get through each day.
"She's so stressed about the kids and so nervous about the tour that it's making her physically ill. The only way she can release that tension is to scream at whoever is closest.
"She locks herself in her room or the bathroom and frequently breaks down in tears"
It was reported last week that Britney's bipolar meds are being supplemented with a concoction of pills – including Valium, anti-anxiety pill Ativan – in a bid to combat her pre-tour nerves. Here's hoping her Circus act doesn't turn into a freak show...

- Perez Hilton Joins Britney Spears' Circus Tour
Celebrity blogger Perez Hilton is the newest member of Britney Spears' traveling circus this spring. When the pop star hits the road next month for her Circus tour not only will she be joined by the Pussycat Dolls, but she'll also have Perez Hilton there for every one of her dates — sort of ...
The blogger will not actually be hitting the road with the singer. He was asked by the tour's director/ choreographer, Jamie King, to tape a video that will air at the beginning of each stop on the tour.
"King told us that he had a dream about Perez and wanted us to be a part of the Circus," Hilton blogged on his site. "His dream is the video we shot last weekend, which is the opening video for the entire show. Britney was down with the idea and we, of course, said yes! We are thrilled to be a part of it!"
In a photo on Britney Spears' official Web site, fans get a taste of what they can expect from Hilton. For his part, Hilton will be dressed as something he describes as "The Ringleader/ Queen Elizabeth I" for the video, a role he said is "super rad."
"We've seen a bit of the rehearsals, and the best way we can describe it is sensory overload and amazing," Hilton said on his site. "The show is not only 'in the round,' but there are three circus rings with action going on in all of them — dancers, acrobats, aerialists and more. It's major! We can't wait to see how it all comes together!"
Speaking of her rehearsals, apparently the pop star has been sharing rehearsal space with Nine Inch Nails, according to Britney's Web site. "I can hear the thumping low end of Britney Spears," a comment from NIN's Trent Reznor says on the site. "It's been a treat having them here the whole time we've been here."

- 50 Cent Says Britney Spears Inspired Him
At first glance, 50 Cent and Britney Spears wouldn't seem to have much more in common than their winning smiles and positive outlooks on life.
But the 33-year-old rapper—born Curtis Jackson—says that the connection between the two is deeper than at first meets the eye, and that Spears' emotional troubles of 2007 served as the inspiration for his new album, Before I Self Destruct. "She was going through her issues in public," the vitamin-water enthusiast explains to OK! Magazine. "It was great to watch her spin out of control because it makes the average person feel better."
This isn't the only unlikely musical connection that Spears has made lately. Earlier this week reports broke that Spears—currently prepping for her upcoming Circus tour—and Nine Inch Nails honcho Trent Reznor—practice in the same rehearsal facility, and that the two have a mutual admiration for each other's musical output.
Could a Spears/50 Cent/Reznor collaboration be far behind? Dare to dream...

- Britney Spears Shoots New Video
Before heading out on the road next month for her big Circus tour, Britney Spears has reportedly started work on a new music video.
In Touch Weekly is reporting that the pop star will be shooting the video at an unidentified location outside Malibu in Pacific Palisades, California on Wednesday (February 11). The report doesn't specify which song Spears is shooting the video for, but it's likely it will be the third single off of Circus, the already controversial song, "If U Seek Amy."
According to In Touch, the video's dancers were told to be at the shoot hours before Spears was set to arrive. "The dancers are all dressed in metallic colors, and shiny tights. They look awesome, with sequins all over their outfits," an eyewitness told the magazine. The source added that the shoot was expected to take a full day, and would go into the night.
"When she works, she is into it and gets it done," an insider tells In Touch. "She looks great and is so fun to work with. She is funny and professional and has tons of energy today."
In other Spears news, the singer has rehired her former personal assistant Felicia Culotta, who had been most recently working for the Jonas Brothers, the BBC reported. Culotta appeared as a teacher in Spears' "Baby One More Time" music video.
"Britney has always held a special place in my heart and, over the course of the last year, I have seen her work harder than she ever has in her entire life," Culotta told Spears' Web site. "I felt I had to be a part of this exciting time in Britney's career. I love Britney and missed her dearly."
Also, according to E! Online, Britney and ex-husband Kevin Federline have finalized the custody arrangement that will allow K-Fed to bring their sons on the road for Britney's tour next month.
"Kevin is working to make them accessible by going on various central locations in various areas of the country," Federline lawyer Mark Vincent Kaplan said last week. "He is doing that because he wants her to be able to have the maximum positive environment around her to assure that the tour will be successful."
