Britney Spears is being pushed to breaking point as she prepares for her first 'live' tour since her public breakdown, according to those close to the pop star.
Friends of the singer – whose Circus tour kicks off in New Orleans on March 3 – say she is buckling under the pressure and is too “stressed” to go on the road."Britney’s like a wound-up spring waiting to go of," a source tells Now.
"She's still taking medication to get through each day.
"She's so stressed about the kids and so nervous about the tour that it's making her physically ill. The only way she can release that tension is to scream at whoever is closest.
"She locks herself in her room or the bathroom and frequently breaks down in tears"
It was reported last week that Britney's bipolar meds are being supplemented with a concoction of pills – including Valium, anti-anxiety pill Ativan – in a bid to combat her pre-tour nerves.Here's hoping her Circus act doesn't turn into a freak show...
